Offers scholarships to all IB students who enroll. Go to www.scad.edu/scholarships for information.

Stetson University
The J. Ollie Edmunds Distinguished Scholarship Program is available at Stetson. Requirements are a 3.5 GPA, a combined SAT score of 1350 (Math and Reading) or a 30 on the ACT, ranking in the top 5% of class. Go to www.stetson.edu/edmunds for more information.

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation Award

Burger King Scholarship

SAMMY 2011 Award Program

FAME Intellectual Freedom Student Scholarship
This is an essay contest and the recipient of the award will receive a $1000 scholarship.

Florida State University is pleased to present the application for the Service Scholar Program for the 2011- 2012 academic year. The Service Scholar Program recognizes select incoming students with an outstanding record of community service and leadership, and who want to continue that commitment at FSU. The Program benefits include a scholarship valued at $2,400 per year for up to four years, exposure to a diverse group of individuals and social issues, and numerous leadership opportunities. This opportunity is available for any students who have an exceptional record of community service and a desire to continue to learn through service and leadership. Sam Walton (Wal-Mart) Community Scholarship

Oh the Places You’ll Go Scholarship
The “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” Scholarship Program is offered by Random House, Inc. 1st Place Award is a $10,000 college scholarship. Applicants must be 12th-grade high school students graduating spring 2011, age 21 years or under. Go to http://www.seussville.com/OTPScholarship/ for more details.

Applicants must write an essay on the following topic:
Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go! delivers an important message about the chances and the troubles that life presents.

(For 2011) Applying the themes of Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, write a letter to a person you know who needs inspiration in his or her life.

Mensa Scholarship

The Mensa Education & Research Foundation college scholarship program bases its awards totally on essays written by applicants. Consideration is not given to grades, academic program or financial need.

Congressional Spanish Caucus Scholarship
Go to http://www.chci.org/scholarships/ for more details. $1,000 community college or AA/AS granting institution; $2,500 4-year academic institution. Based on leadership and is only for Hispanic students.


Admissions Decision Information

FSU (Florida State University) will notify students as to their status Wed., Dec. 8th. This was a very competitive year for FSU regarding admissions as was admissions to the Honors college. IF you are admitted, and wish to apply to the CARE program, you must apply no later than January 19th. Go to http://care.fsu.edu/summer.html details.

UF (University of Florida) reminds us that students who applied by November 1, 2010 will receive their admissions decisions online on the evening of Friday, February 11, 2011. Written notification will be sent the following week to admitted students only. The website for viewing decisions online is http://www.admissions.ufl.edu.


USF Engineering Expo

The University of South Florida College of Engineering personally invites Bartow Senior High School to the 39th annual Engineering EXPO! Located in USF’s engineering complex, this free exhibition seeks to educate K-12 students on the importance of engineering, science, technology, and math in their lives. EXPO is held on the 18th and 19th of February 2011, taking place from 9am to 4pm on both days. All of our exhibits are designed to be interactive - to teach students while entertaining them. This is a great opportunity for college-bound students to learn about USF Engineering and for students of all ages to gain an interest in the fields of engineering, science, technology, and math.
